Dear STHS Band Families and Friends,

The Santa Teresa High School Band is currently going through several exciting changes. This year's program has increased significantly to over 140 members who are working hard to establish both a tradition of excellence and a sense of community pride. As members of the Santa Teresa High School Band, students are learning important life skills, such as self-reliance, discipline, leadership skills, a strong sense of self-worth, and a good work ethic. In addition to our seasonal concerts in our Performing Arts Complex, our members will be performing at several football games, basketball games, local parades, Marching Band competitions, Regional and National concerts and music festivals.

Right now, the Music Program is in the middle of a fundraising campaign to earn over $150,000 towards our operations budget for the entire band program. This budget supports all the bands: Marching Band & Color Guard, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, and two Jazz Bands. It will allow the band to purchase music, repair or replace aging school instruments and equipment, travel to competitions, and perform at various community events. All money that you contribute goes directly to support the Santa Teresa High School Music program.

One of the best and most effective ways the students can raise money is by acquiring sponsorships that go directly towards the amount they need to raise. With most fundraisers only 50% of the money you pay goes to the organization running the fundraiser. The remainder of the money you pay goes to pay for some type of product which you may seldom use. With a sponsorship, 100% of your money is applied directly to the program!
