Winter Guard

Santa Teresa Winter Guard is a competitive performing arts program of Santa Teresa High School.

It is an after school program sponsored by STMAA from December-April.  This program is open to returning and new color guard members (by audition).  This competitive ensemble competes at winter guard shows performing a custom show (with music, costumes, flags etc,) through their season.  There is additional fundraising and funding required for this program.  Participation in winter guard, while encouraged, is not required for color guard members.

Our mission is to strive to be the best in excellence, accuracy, creativity, and performance, that each individual can be, to come together to thoroughly entertain audiences in the bay area.

The Winter Guard show entitled “Slick” is a technical, intellectual and intriguing show set to a music mix of Phillip Glass’ “Secret Agent” and Pentatonix “Hallelujah”.  This season continues to push the Santa Teresa Winter Guard further to expand their performance level, technically and emotionally.

A highlight to this year’s show involves a 30ft x 30ft shiny, copper metallic liquid like fabric that has stunned both audience and judges!

With such high-level choreography, the Winter Guard has been working diligently to perfect the show.  Both audience and judges have positive reactions to elements in the show.  In coming weeks, the Winter Guard is striving to continue improving the strength of their show to move up the ranks of achievement!
